      !LEGATEE UNDER WILL OF FATHER:
Under Will of John Kilham/Killam dated 9 Feb 1753 and probated 1 Feb 1754, per Colonial Records
of Connecticut, 12-477-8, he gave to his three youngest daughters specific legacies in the amount of 145
pounds, 2 shillings. Judgment was given against the executor on October, 1766, as Olive had been
deprived of 20 pounds 18 shillings; Mercy likewise of 22 pounds 5 shillings, and Hepsibah of 23
pounds 16 shillings.!AFN: 8R09-3L ((as Hepsibah (Hesibeth) KELLUM))

      !MOTHER OF HEPSIBAH AND SIBLINGS?
Sheila Spencer Stover, in her book entitled "Ancestors and Descendants of Timothy Kellam"
(privately printed by author, Kansas City, KS, 1982), suggests at pages 9-10, that only Nathan
and Jeptha (also possibly Abigail) were children of John Kilham or Killam and his wife Abigail
while Mercy, Hepsibah and Olive (and John, Jr.?) were likely children of John and his third wife,
Hepsibah (Parke?) Apparently this assumption is based on tradition passed down in her family.
THERE IS NOTHING IN THE PRESTON TOWN RECORDS, AS RECORDED IN THE
BARBOUR COLLECTION OF CONNECTICUT VITAL RECORDS, AS TO THE DEATH
OF ABIGAIL KIMBALL KILHAM OR KILLAM, AS TO THE MOTHER OF THE
YOUNGER CHILDREN OF JOHN, OR AS TO THE DATE OF MARRIAGE OF JOHN
TO HEPSIBAH, WHO BECAME HIS WIDOW AT HIS DEATH. On Whipple Website
on 26 Dec 1999, Marlene Powell (gemarpow@email.msn.com) stated that "Abigail
Kilham died about 1735 (NOT 1753) after the birth of her last child, Abigail." However, she
furnished no source for this statement and an E-mail message sent to her on June 10, 2001, was
not deliverable. See also later book by Sheila Spencer Stover, "Families of Southern Tier New
York, North Eastern Pennsylvania, Vol.," (privately printed by author, Bunn, NC 27508, 2001),
pages 24-5. Queries place in "The Connecticut Nutmegger" and on the Internet have not resulted
      in any helpful answers.

if Abigail (Kimball) Kilham possibly died in 1735, she is also not the mother of Abigail Kilham...
"Abigail Kilham died about 1735 (NOT 1753) after the birth of her last child, Abigail."
      Her daughter, Abigail Kilham, was born 19 Aug 1736 • Norwich, New London, Connecticut;
as shown on U.S., Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970 for Abigail Killam
