John Jett II and Ann Wells - The Jett and Allied Families" by Jeter Lee Jett, 1977
John Jett II was the son of John Jett I and Elizabeth Triplett. He was born c. 1695 in Richmond County, Colony of Virginia. According to the book, "The Jett and Allied Families" by Jeter Lee Jett, 1977, John Jett II married Ann Wells (?). They lived on a 200 acre tract of land lying on "Muddy Creek" in Brunswick Parish, on the western end of King George County. John and Ann Jett sold this tract of land on "Muddy Creek" in 1745 to the Rev. Daniel McDonald, who later moved to Culpeper County, Virginia. John and Ann Jett next show up in Culpeper County, where they lease 100 acres of land in "Elkwood" in 1749, adjoining land which John Jett already owned.
John Jett II died in 1771 and was survived by his wife, Ann. According to the Jett book, mentioned above, John Jett II died on his 400 acre farm at "Waterloo" which was located on the south side of the Rappahannock River where Virginia State Route 802 crosses the river. This is now Spring Road, Jeffersonton, Culpeper County, Virginia. It crosses out of Culpeper County over the Rappahannock River into Fauquier County at Fauquier White Sulphur Springs.
Abstract of lease - 14 November 1749 - William Beverley of Blandfield, in Gloucester County, Virginia, leases to John Jett of Culpeper County, Virginia, to himself, his sons, Stephen and James, or the longest liver of them, 100 acres of land lying in "Elkwood", in Culpeper County. Said land adjoins the present land of John Jett. The said John Jett is to pay to the said William Beverley, yearly, in each November 474 pounds of top-leaf tobacco, to be delivered to the tobacco warehouse at Falmouth, Virginia in the County of Stafford. (Culpeper County, Virginia Deed Book A, Page 188)
John Jett II and his wife Ann had 7 children; four boys and three girls.
