He was a Revolutionary War soldier and married Isabella Allen (his cousin) . . . John Owens and his wife Mildred , with Thomas Grant (father of Mildred) and her brother Daniel, and brother-in-law William Allen, moved to Granville County, NC, in 1765, later removed to a location near Elizabethton, Kentucky. . . . .
