  Mary, the wife of Thomas Barnes, was hung Mary, the wife of Thomas Barnes, was hung as a witch in 1662 at Hartford, Conn. We have never been able to learn anything about her parents or where she was born. There is only the record of her children and her execution. Evidently everything about her was wiped out of the records because of the sentence of being a witch. Some day we will know who Mary was, and we will love her just that much more.
