!Ephraim, son of Roger Buck, was born at Cambridge, July 26, 1646. He married, January 1, 1671, Sarah, daughter of John and Eunice (Mousall) Brooks of Woburn. He doubtless settled there a few years before he married, as he is mentioned in the will of John Mousall, whose granddaughter he married, and Mr. Mousall died March 27, 1665. He was a man of much distinction. He was appointed local magistrate by the general court. to try small causes. He was a farmer. His grandson Jonathan was the founder of Bucksport, Maine. He died, January, 1721, at Woburn. Children: Sarah, born January 11, 1673; Ephraim, July 13, 1676; John, January 11, 1678-79, died young; John, February 7, 1679-80; Samuel, November 13, 1682, mentioned below; Eunice, July 7, 1685; Ebenezer, May 20, 1689; Mary, October 28, 1691. Later the farm was called the "OLD BUCK FARM". It was located one mile south of the meeting house. It was a quite a large tract of land , and no doubt he superintended its cultivation; but apart from this, nothing can be found to show his having any other occupation, except from the following extract from the N.E. Historic Genealogical Register, Vol . 29, p. 72: "William Brush and Elizabeth Gold, widow, both of Woburn, published according to law, as testified by Ephraim Buck, Constable 3." From Sewall's History of Woburn and Frothingham's History of Charlestown we learn: "Ephraim Buck was taxed in the Meeting House Rates (Church Pew Rent) in 1672." "He was married 1-1-1671, to Sarah, daughter of John and Eunice Monsall Brooks, and grandaughter of Deacon John Monsall." In 1692 Ephraim was elected constable of Charlestown, where the town records show he solemnized marriages. [Darlene Buck's Gedcom File For The Buck Family (File: ANCESTRY.COM\23856.GED (16 SEP 1999)]
Person note
A sketch of Ephraim Buck was published in the book by:
Ellery Bicknell Crane, Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County, Massachusetts, Volume 1 (New York : The Lewis Publishing Company, 1907), page 387:
"(III) Ephraim Buck, son of Roger Buck (2), was born at Cambridge, Massachusetts, July 26, 1646. He married, January 1, 1671, Sarah Brooks, daughter of John and Eunice (Mousall) Brooks, of Woburn. He settled there probably a few years earlier, as he is mentioned in the will of John Mousall, whose granddaughter he married. Mr. Mousall died March 27, 1665. He also left a bequest to John Brooks. Ephraim Buck became a man of distinction; he was the local magistrate appointed to try small causes by the general court. He was a farmer. His grandson, Jonathan Buck, son of Ebenezer, was the founder of the town of Bucksport, Maine, and he has thousands of descendants in Maine and northern New England, through this son, Ebenezer. (See the Bangor Historical Register.) He died January, 1721, at Woburn. Massachusetts. The children of Ephraim and Sarah (Brooks) Buck were: Sarah, born January 11, 1673, married Thomas Grover; Ephraim, born July 13, 1676, married Esther Wagget; John, born January II, 1678-9, died young; John, born February 7. 1679-80, married Priscilla ;Samuel, born November 13, 1682, married Hannah Eunice, born July 7, 1685; Ebenezer, born May 20, 1689, married Lydia Eames; Mary, born October 28, 1691, married (first) Nathaniel Pike or Spike, married (second) Samuel Bigsbee."

The will was proved by the executors at the Probate Court in Cambridge on 20 March 1720. A bond of one hundred pounds was posted by Ephraim Buck, Samuel Buck and John Richardson on 20 March 1720. On that date, John Richardson and Eleazer Flagg refused to be executors of the estate, and Ephraim Buck and Samuel Buck were appointed administrators of the estate.
On 16 March 1721, Nathaniel Spike stated that he was satisfied with what his honoured father Ephraim Buck hath given him in his Will and therefore desires that it may proved as witness his hand.
The farm which his son Ephraim received from him was passed from father to son up to 1885. It is situated in North Wilmington, Massachusetts, contains 160 acres of land and has been owned and occupied from 1825-1885 by Benjamin Buck. He left the farm to his nephew's son Jonathan H. Buck. The old dwelling house was still standing in 1923.
