  • Notes
    • First settled in Hartford, then Windsor
First settled in Hartford, then Windsor; was in Windsor in 1668. Made freeman 1656. Returned to Hartford by 1683. His three youngest children were left behind in Windsor "in a suffering state." The court ordered Samuel and Thomas Burr to settle the estate and care for the children.

      Parent's Unknown
While working on the biography for John and Elizabeth (Goodwin) Crow, it has become clear that Christopher Crow is not their son, because:
Elizabeth is too young to have been his mother, b. about 1620 according to Anderson
when Christopher Crow and his wife left the colony, and left their children behind, the court records arranging for taking care of the children, the wife's family is named, but not one person in John Crow's family, although John and his wife, the purported grandparents, were living in Hartford at that time.
not one of John Crow's biographers lists Christopher Crow as John's son although all of them name Christopher; the same exact eleven children of John and Elizabeth are named in nearly every single early genealogy, including Savage, Barnes p 203, Judd, Warner.
