      29. Thomas4 Beebe (John Jr.3 Beeby, John Sr.2, Thomas1 Bebe) was born June 23, 1633 in Broughton Northhamptonshire England19, and died 1699 in New London, New London Co., CT. He married Millicent Addis 1655 in New London, New London, CT USA, daughter of William Addis. She was born 1633 in Gloucester, MA USA, and died 1698.

      He probably accompained his twin brother to New England, in 1650, although supposed to have come to New London, CT, with the so-called Eastern or Cape Ann Company from Marshfield and Gloucester, MA, with their pastor, Rev. Mr. Bilnman, who was originally from Chepstown, Monmouthsire.
      Land was granted him in New London, CT, September 1, 1651, and at several times afterwards.
      Thomas Beebe had a barque from 12 to 20 tons, named Speedwell, built for him by Mould & Colt, about 1660-1664.
      He was made freeman of the Colony in 1666, and was a committee of seven to fortify New London against Keing Phillip in 1675. In February 1677, he acted on a building committee to procure timber for a new Meeting House, and in November 1683, he was one of a committee in behalf of the town, to send a letter by Captian Winthrop to Messrs. Mather and Willard, ministers at Boston, for advice and counsel in "attayning" a minister for the town. In 1690 he was appointed to assign seats in the church and the same year succeeded his brother John, as Sergeant.

      Ship-master in CT. Thomas was made freeman of the Colony in1666. His homestead desended to his son Thomas, by whom it was conveyed in the latter years of his life, to his nephew, William Holt.

      In the spring of 1651 he was graduated land in New London, CT. In 1662 Jun 28 a warrant was issued for his appearance in court on the first Thursday in July to answer the complaint of John Lewis regarding a debt of ten shillings. A bark of 20 tons, named the "Speedwell" was biult for him by Mouls and Coit circa 1662. In 1669 he was made freeman, and in 1673 was appointed a jury-man for the year, and again in 1667. In 1675 June 4 he was confirmed as Sergeant of the Trainband at New London with his brother Samuel Beebe, again in 1678. In 1675 when the Indians were attacking and burning several villages in and around New London, he was one of seven men appointed to set up fortifications against them. He also served in King Phillip's War with the rank of sergeant.

      In Feb. of 1677-8 he was part of a building committee set up to build a new meeting house at the site of the old one. In 1683 Nov 19 he was part of a committee to seek a replacement minister who had passed away. In 1690 he was assigned the job of finishing the interior of the new meeting house. The same year he succeeded his brother John Beebe as Sergeant of the Trainband. He was prominent in church affairs. In addition to his own children, he raised the two sons of Milicent from a prior marriage.

      Currently Rebecca LZPK-LDH is attached to two different sets of parents. Her birthdate is 1665, which was John's daughter's birthdate. It is said she married Richard Shaw. Thomas' daughter was listed in the Beebe genealogy as between 1652-1672 This second Rebecca was married to Nathaniel Holt.

      Samuel was a twin brother of Thomas and
      Samuel was a twin brother of Thomas and baptized with him at Broughton, England, 23 June 1633. He came to New England in 1649 with his brother John. They lived briefly in Gloucester, MA but then removed to New London, CT where land was granted him December 2nd 1651 as well as several times afterwards. In 1708 he testified that he and his brother made the fence to Mr Winthrop's ox pasture "sixty years since." This expression is understood to mean about sixty years as he could not have been in New London earlier than the summer of 1650
