    • Samuel son of Robert Dayton and Elizabeth Woodruff
      the Samuel Dayton who dies 30 Jan 1746 by his age at death was born in 1665 and is not the Samuel shown as Samuel Junior who was the son of Roberts brother Samuel. The Will of Samuel Dayton gives his fathers name as Robert not Robard. It also gives his current wife's name as Dorothy Who according to the Southold Town records he married 21 August 1705 his first wife having died 31 August 1704 according to one source in Genealogical and Family History on page 237 Gives his first wife's name as Wilhelmina.

      Samuel's first wife maybe named Dorothy and possibly a Miller or Hobart
      First wife's name may have been Dorothy and she may have been a Miller or a Hobart, according to Jeannette Edwards Rattray compilation "East Hampton History including Genealogies of Early Families" published 1953 - Dayton family section page 269.
