      #2 KS was born in Connecticut, 1778. It was just two years since the American Revolution began. At age seventeen, she married Benjamin Benson in Maple, New York December 15, 1795. They made their home in New York and became parents of twelve children.
      Benjamin was a millwright. In 1811, they settled in Bath, Steuben, New York. In 1820 the Benson's built a log raft on the upper Ohio River. They put all their belongings on the raft and floated down to Clark County, Indiana. They built mills on the White River and Gold Roundtown on the Eel River, Indiana in 1825.
      In 1832 they were in Clinton county, Indiana, where they were baptized and confirmed. They moved again November 17, 1832, living in Missouri until October 31, 1833, when the mobs destroyed the area. They moved to Warsaw, six miles south of Nauvoo and started over. Benjamin found a job building mills. In 1836 they were again forced out by the mobs.
      Benjamin passed away October 7, 1846. Kesiah continued with her son, Jerome, and family to Zion. They were with an independent company, arriving in the fall of 1851. They proceeded to Provo, Utah.
      They were living in Provo and built a large adobe house, with an upstairs room on the Provo River. Keziah's son, Jerome, and his wife fell into the Provo River while crossing a foot bridge. She was pulled into the swift waters and drowned. Jerome was carrying the twins and was unable to save her.
      Keziah's health failed and she passed away at the age of seventy -eight.

      !doc: Records of Springville, Utah Ward Records Keziah Messenger born 6 Dec. 1781. Rebaptized 19 June 1853. The following were rebaptized 19 Oct. 1851: Alford. B., Eveline, Jerome, Mary Rhodes, Mary Benson, Louisa K., Amelia. Something is wrong with this record. Amelia's birth date is given in this record and other records on the Springville Ward film as 6 Oct. 1845. So she would be only 6 years old in 1851. Something is wrong also because in one place it states whe was baptized by J.M. Benson, and in another by L.H. Stewart. I am wondering if Amelia was ever baptized. If she went with her father when he left for Calif. she would bearly be eight and perhaps had not turned 8 by that time. According to the letter Ethel received from her grandson, none of the family joined the church. (Note on back of sheet by Mom,Fern Bartholomew Fronk) May have been born in Lawrenceburg, Conn.
