Notes - Regarding "Possibility"
Martha COLLINS died in 1828 in Belmont County. I'm assuming your date was a result of errant fingers? And I'm beginning to believe that we're going to have to wait until we can get information directly from the sources themselves before this quandary will be resolved. At least, there's that hope!
Original temple work done in Nauvoo Temple (historic)
When I first discovered that Brice COLLINS was my 4ggfather, I looked him up in the records at the time. Those indicated that he had been baptized in 1843 and endowed (both by proxy) on 24 January 1846. Kind of sad that those original dates have now been overwritten by more recent ordinances performed in his behalf. Maybe it was required?
Possibility
Although there are no sources for Martha Ann, she died in about 1889l. Ann was born about a year later. Is it possible that Martha/ Martha Ann was the only wife. When Martha Ann died, they named next daughter Ann.
It seems like most if not all the children, were all the children of Brice and Martha/ Martha Ann. Just raising this as a possibility.
