Wilson Sealing of Children to Parents: Except as noted, all children of Joseph Wilson and Rebecca Phelps were sealed to their parents on 19 Sep 1944. Documentation: Stamped fgsheet submitted by Vera Price, original in the possession of Randon Wilson of Salt Lake City. !DEATH: Joseph E. Wilson gives date of death as "1838" and place of death as: "on journey to Missouri, in Ohio." Edmund Wait, husband of Hannah Wilson (a daughter of Deliverance Wilson, Jr. and Lovina Fairchild), in an unfinished letter to H. O. Smith, Esq. (family genealogist) gives the date of death as "About August, 1838" and the place of death as Charleston, Coles Co., Ill. This latter place of death has some merit in that a son, Wellington Paul Wilson, with his wife, Elizabeth Boardman Smith, was residing in Charleston, Coles Co., Ill. at the time. Wellington Paul Wilson, as quoted by Eunice Cope (a granddaughter) confirms Illinois as being the place of death without giving any further details.

      Wilson spelling variations
When researching this line I was confused that sometimes the surname is spelled as Willson. This surprised me because I had never been told of that.
I think I finally figured it out. In the 1790 census for Springfield VT, on pg 294 we see Deliverance Wilson listed. It is a very fuzzy copy. On first glance it looks like Willson, but in reality it is Wilson. The "s" is written like an f with a backwards lower loop. That is how Germanic people used to write their "s". I think the clerk who wrote this line was of Germanic descent and thus the error crept into the family history.
