Only men who had taken the oath were allowed to vote Heads of households on the 1830 VT census with Amos are Joel, James and (unreadable) Ammi, and under-60 Mary with daughter? under 30. 1820 only had Joel. 1810 had Joel andLevi. 1800 only Joel, 1790 none. So it's looking like Joel's likely. There were no Willsons at all in VT 1790, per the census indexing at ancestry.com. *2* Joels ("Wilfon"!) with and Ezra BROWN between them) at Windsor twp, Hartford CoCT. It's likely that Amos, Joel, James are sons of Joel, accounting for 2 elder brothers to Amos. (Widow?) Mary seems possible (last?) wife of Joel, and perhaps mother of some. Sandi Jo WILLSON-CURREEN: "Amos was born about 1800in VT and witnessed the Battle of Lake Champlain in 1812 at the age of 12. Hehad two brothers who were supposed to have been in the war of 1812. Amos married Elizabeth P WRIGHT whose parents were Dorastus & Phoebe WRIGHT. She died 8Apr 1832 in Fairfax VT."
