1841 Wales census, Bryn Melyn farm, Daniel-55-farmer, Ruth-60, Mary-20, Samuel-15. 1851 Wales, Bryn Melyn, Daniel-68, Ruth-71, Samuel Williams-24-LDS preacher, John Williams- grson-age 9, Esther Price-grdau-no age given. 1861 Wales census, Top Glas farm, Samuel Williams-34, Ann-25, Mary, Ruth, Daniel - ages not given. Many of the Williams family had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wales and came to America to gather with the Saints. Their first gathering was at Kanesville, IA and many went on to Salt Lake City, some stayed in the Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, IA area. Samuel D., Ann, Mary and Ruth sailed to America sometime between 1861 and 1871, then traveled to Salt Lake City where they joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Their son Daniel stayed behind in Wales with his uncle Daniel Pryse, of Top Glas at Waunllwyd, this Daniel has a grandson who is a school master in Carmarthen, South Wales. Info from Jean Doll of Crescent, IA, a descendant who visited Wales and found other descendants still there.
