In the name of god Amen the 13th day of August in the year of our lord 1722 I Elizabeth Lucy of the town of Brecon in the county of Breconshire widow being of Sound and perfect mind and memory Blessed Be God and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say
first and principally I commend my soul to almighty god my creator .. by beleving that I shall receive full pardon and free remission of my sins and be saved by the .. death and merits of my blessed saviour Jesus Christ and my body to the Earth to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to my executors herein after named Shall be thought most and convenient but to be intered in that grave wherein the bodies of my dead first husband and my dear son William were laid
and as for such worldly estate as the lord in Mercy have blessed me with my will and meaning is the same shall be employed and bestowed as HereinAfter by this my will
first I give and bequeath to my daughter-in-law Mary Awbrey the sum of 200 pounds for and in satisfaction of a bond .dot.dot upon or after her intermarried with my late son Dr Timothy Awbrey and of the money .. thereby and
I do also give unto my grandchildren Mariana and Elizabeth Awbrey the sum of 100 Pounds apiece and towards payment of the aforesaid .. do give and appropriate the two following sums namely 300lbs due to me from Thomas Lloyd gentleman and 100 lb due to me by Bond from Christopher Portrey of Ynis Rodroyn gentleman
Item I give to my said daughter Awbrey the sum of 100 pounds my silver coffee pot one silver hand candlestick my green satin embroidered toylet with its appurtenances and two other toylets one one of lawn and the other of striped muslin
Item I give to my said granddaughter Marianna Awbrey my large silver basin with the foot toit
and to my said granddaughter and god daughter Elizabeth Awbrey my gold .. hair and hook and my silver for table
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my grandson William Awbrey all the mortgage money and interest due to me as directed of my late son William Awbrey and sourced upon the credit of the lands of John Turboroill and Richard Turboroill of Mangattork in the county of Brecon: upon condition nevertheless that he my said grandson William Albury shall within 18 months nett after he shall arrive to his full age of 21 years in and form of Law ratify and confirm the bargain and sale by me made unto Thomas Lloyd gentlemen of all that massuage or dwelling house out houses and garden called the old boar in the said farm of Brecon and shall .dot.dot to such propses conoeyantes and apertinences in the law for that and all for conveying the same finishes or releasing his right and interest therein unto the said Thomas Lloyd his heirs and assigns forever as by .. shall be advised according to the purpose and effect of the deed or deeds by me reached unto the said Thomas Lloyd his heirs and assigns for ever or any other in trust for him
Item I give to my said grandons william awbrey my gold seal with the family coat of arms engraved thereon .. and all the furniture of the houses I now live in I dispose with parts as I have or shall herinafter dispose of
AND my will and meaning is that his mother shall have the use of all the plate and furniture .. if he shall not attain his full age then shall be by remainder to his heirs sisters if they or either of them shall survive him
ITEM I give unto my grandson Thomas Price all those shares and partnership which I have and am entitled to in copper works at Swanzey in the county of Glamorgan and all the term and advantage and benefit thereof upon condition that thomas price shall pay unto my daughter Havard in case she shall survive her husband Lewis Havard the yearly sum of five pounds .. during the erm of her natural life.
ITEM I give to my daughter Elizabeth Price my single pair of silver candlesticks snufflers and pan
I give to my grandchildren Sybil Price and my godson Awbrey Price the sum of 50 pounds apiece
And I also give my other grandchildren Daniel Price, Rees Price, Elizabeth Price and Catherine Price the sum of 20 pounds apiece
ITEM I give to my granddaughter Anne Prythero 20 pounds and also to her son and my godson David Prythero 40 pounds and to her son William Prythero 20 pounds and to her daughters Elizabeth and Margaret the sum of 10 pounds apiece
ITEM I give unto my daughter Martha Watkins 50 pounds ,, best bed with the chairs stools but it shall not be taken away during such time as my said dau in law shall continue to live in the house wherin I now dwell or until such time as she shall marry or remove to reside elsewhere
I give unto my grandsons William Watkins and Walter Watkins 20 pounds apeice and to my grandson and godson Timothy Watkins 40 pounds
Item I will that my executors pay out of my person estate unto my kinsmen and friends charles penry of brecon: .. rodderick Prythero gentleman and william owsely of brecon grocer the yearly sum of 20 pounds during the lifetime of Lewis Havard of the town of brecon gentleman only and if my said daughter Havard wife of the said Lewis Havard shall so long .. by two equal half yearly payments to the intent and purposes that the said charles penry rodderick Prythero and william owsely or their executors shall pay and dispose of the said yearly sum of twenty pounds as the same shall be widowed to the own and separate use of my said daughter havard and not unto the said lewis havard .. and he shall not intermeddle
Item I will and order that my said daughter havard shall have the use of my silber candlestick my silver porronger and silver spoon for her life and after her decease to her daughter Elizabeth Havard
Item I give unto my grand daughter Elizabeth Havard 500 pounds and towards the payment thereof do give and appropriate the two following sums namely 300 pounds due to me as executrix of my late son william awbrey by bond from silvannus Bevams of swanzey and others and 200 pounds and in like manner by bond from john jones of Creebarth within the parish of Lanavanvawr gentleman and other but my will is that such interest shall be due by virtue of the said bonds to the time of my decease shall be paid to or retreived by my executors and I do further give and devise to my grandau havard 20 pounds
Item I give to my grandson John Havard 50 pounds towards sorting him out an apprentice and my will and meaning is that Lewis Havard the father of Elizabeth and John Havard be not suffered to intermeddle in any manner with all or any of the legacies bequeathed by me
Item I give and bequeth to the siad charles penry rodderick Prythero and william owsely 20 pounds to be by them paid to the sole and separate use of my granddaughter Mary Simmonds wife of Richard Simmonds .. and 20 pounds more to be by them laid out in buying a piece of plate or otherwise for the benefit of my granddau and god dau Elizabeth Simmonds and richard simmonds shall not intermeddle with the two last mentioned legacies in any sort neither shall the same or either of them be liable to his debts
Item I give to my nephew Ceilb[illegible] Harris son of my late brother William Harris 10 pounds
Item I give to my brothers Dr Harris and Charles Harris to my sister Olivia Price to my sister Anne Mason and to her husband to my sister Harris wife to my late brother Hopton Harris to my sister Jeffereys to my sister Barbara Harris to my grandsons Rodderick Prythero Richard and thomas Awbry and also to the said charles Bury and wiliam Owesley to each of them a mourning ring of a guineas price or value
Item I give to thomas shermon if living with me at my decease _ pounsd and to my chief maid servant then living with me _ pounds and also 20 shillings apiece to the other servants that shall be then in my service
Lastly I nominate and appoint my said daughters Mary Awbrey and my dau Elizabeth Price and Martha Watkins executrixes of this my last will and give [??unto them] the residue of my personal estate
