*The surname of 'Evans' is said to actually be 'Pugh' in Wales, but was dropped in America. *Passenger ticket of steamship "Caravan" sailed from Liverpool, England on 14 Feb 1856 to the Port of New York, Margaret Williams listed as 40 years old, with husband and children. *Daniel and Margaret Willliams were in Pottawattamie Co., IA when Daniel died; she then married Edward Middleton, a Methodist minister from England, who was known by the family. They moved to Clarks, Nebraska, with her two youngest children, Samuel H. and Annie. Edward and Margaret had no children together. *Marriage record to Edward in Pottawattamie, Iowa Early Marriages, 1848-1869, page 24. *1870 Iowa census, Pottawattamie, Crescent, dwelling 220, Edward Middleton-58, Margaret-56-Wales, Annie-13-PA. *1880 Nebraska census, Merrick, Central City, Edward-68 and Margret-64 Middleton-both born Wales, Samuel Williams-stepson-28-Wales, Frederick Williams-Gson-4-NE. *1885 Nebraska State census, Merrick Co., Central Pct., ED 525, Edward Middleton-73, Margaret-69-PA, Fred Williams-9-grandson-NE, (by daughter Annie.) *Margaret died and was buried in the Clarks Cemetery; her obituary in the Merrick Co., newspaper. *The Clarks cemetery records show Edward purchased six grave spaces, one was used for Margaret, unmarked to this day, the other spaces are still empty. There is no record of her being buried there - this was family knowledge of daughter Annie and Annie's sons. Gr-son William Robinson showed her grave site to two of his daughters, Ada and Lois. Edward returned to Hereford, England and died at his sister's home. Letters from him to Annie and notification of his death from England in possession of Lois J. Aubuchon. Family knowledge from Annie, youngest child of Daniel and Margaret's, passed down through sons.
