Captain Samuel St. John descends from Sir William St. John, Knight --> Mathew --> Mathews b. 1635; and not Thomas --> Christopher --> Mathias b. 1601 --> Matthias II --> Mathias III
Captain Samuel St. John descends from Sir William St. John, Knight --> Mathew --> Mathews b. 1635; and not Thomas --> Christopher --> Mathias b. 1601 --> Matthias II --> Mathias III.
Y-DNA shows Captain Samuel is a descendant of Sir William St. John born 1580-1586. Mathias III did not get married until 1690 to Rachel Bouton II. Mathewes b. 1635 married Rachel Button/Bouton before 1680 and had Captain Samuel b. 1580-1585 and Mathew 1586 and if the later couple had a Samuel and Mathew they were born AFTER 1690.
