!Hezekiah inherited his father's land in Caswell Co. when the latter died in 1782. He then deeded part this this farm on Rattlesnake Creek, Caswell Co to brothers Caleb and John. I have copies of these 2 deeds, dated 1782. Evidently, they divided their father's farm into three parts. Hezekiah didn't die until 1803, but both brothers left Caswell County while Hezekiah and son Elijah remained. In this file, I have included only two (John and Elijah) of the children of Hezekiah and Elinor. In fact, there were six or seven. In birth order: John, William (b abt 1765), Elijah, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Hannah, and probably Archibald (who may have later moved to Smith County). We don't know anything about this William, but there is almost no chance he is the William in our line. Hezekiah was the right age to fight in the Revolution, but I haven't checked the NC war records. SOURCES: Marvin Carman; Caswell Co NC Land Deeds, Book A, p. 609, 611.
