    • Regarding my previous note about Joseph's father
      To a large degree, disregard my last assertion that George from England is Joseph's father. Somehow names are not lined up correctly here on family search. It shows Joseph's son being Daniel. Both my great granddads. But under parents it lists John and Ursala Keene Withers or William Allen. Somewhere there is wring information.

      My Allen family has his father listed as George who came from England in 1648
      There is a book written by the late Robert E. Allen called "Hear ye, Hear ye, George Allen cometh to Virginia from England in 1648" in it, it states that George became wealthy as a tobacco merchant. I believe I have also seen somewhere where a 2nd-cousin of mine has a DNA match to this man named George with the appropriate %. Therefore it is my belief that William is not Joseph's father.

      Orange County
      There are numerous references to Joseph moving, living and dying in Orange county, NC. Most of his children lived and died in Rockingham county, NC. This can be explained by reviewing the map of Orange County from 1752-1849 as it was formed into numerous other counties.
