Barent was the only Keysers of the Schoharie Valley, who chose to stay when his parents & siblings moved to Stone Arabia in 1723. It is believed he or his line had a small grain grinding mill on Keyserkill. They may have lived in a small home near the present Breakabeen Bridge & raised a family of 10 children. Barent was a partner in the Borst Patent with his brother-in-law, the Reverend Peter Nicholas Sommers. Barent died after the Upper Fort was started & died before it was completed. His family did use the fort for protection during the revolution. It is thought that Barent married Maria Barbara Berg. Date of her death is unknown. They were both buried in Mann's Flats near Breakabeen Bridge. Field stones are inscribed with their names & set up as markers. In 1976, a replacement/ redone marker that was made in 1941 & donated by the Keyser reunion committee was relocated to a lot belonging to Charles Keyser in Breakabeen Cemetery & that is where it is today. In 1941, when Barent's stone was in need of repairs & it was removed in ordered to be repaired & reset/ Maria's stone marker disappeared.

Please examine the census documents and pictures on grave stones... the name is Barent.

I have added the lineage delimiters (Sr, Jr, III) due to all the mismatches between the Barent Keysers born between 1712 and 1799. There are too many families with the wrong sibling and parents being displayed.
Please examine the lineage and spelling of Keyser / Kaiser / Kayser / Keiser - all derived from the original german spelling of: Kießer.

Rhineland, Prussia, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1533-1950 for Andreas Kießer
