Need some help! Has anyone researched Lt. Samuel Phelps b 5Sep1652 and d 21 Oct 1741 in Windsor, son of Samuel Phelps and Sarah Griswold? He married Abiell Williams 21 Jun 1678 and then Abigail Eno 3 apr 1707 in Windsor. Sources online state he married Sarah Eno but I cannot find evidence of that; Barbour lists Abigail (Sarah's sister) as his wife. I find 6 children born of this union (according to Barbour): Abigail, Samuel, Mathew, James, and James, and lastly Hezekiah. Can anyone verify this?

According to Barbour Collection which is transcription of town records, Samuel married Abiell Williams21 Jun 1678 and then married Abigail Eno (dau of James Eno) 3 apr 1707. Checked the Eno records and it shows up there as well as Abigail marrying Samuel Phelps in Windsor on that date.

Marriage James Parker & Elizabeth Long
Book - History of Groton, by Caleb Butler, p.281-284
Capt. James Parker married Elizabeth Long, of Woburn, 23 May 1643, by whom he had eleven children; but neither John nor Joseph are mentioned in his will; perhaps they had died, and if they left children, these would be included in the devise to “grandchildren.” In advanced life, he married Eunice _____, a widow, by whom he had one daughter, Sarah. His care of this child of his old age, being born when he was about four-score years old, is seen in his will.

[] From "Parker In America": Captain James Parker owned a 50-acre right in Groton and resided there from the first settlement until his death in 1701. He was a distinguished and extraordinary man, and a leader in the municipal, military, ecclesiastical, and other affairs of the town. He married (1), in Woburn, 1643, Elizabeth Long. He married (2) Eunice (Brooks) Carter. He had 10 children by his first and one by his second w..., the last born when he was over 80 years of age! Captain James came to America in 1634, was in Woburn in 1640, a freeman in 1644, a grantee in Billerica, and then moved to Chelmsford. He became one of the earliest settlers of Groton, where he was very prominent in the affairs of the town. He was one of the first board of selectmen chosen in 1662, and continued in that capacity most of the time until 1669. He was a representative to the general court in 1693. After King Philip's war and the resettlement of Chelmsford, a mill was built at Stony Book, concerning which this record is found: "The twenty shillings due the Indian Andrew from the town, for his weir at Stony Brook, assigned by said Indian to Richard Blood, the said Blood assigns over to James Parker." This was about 1680. James house was one of the garrisons used during King Philip's War, and it was with Capt. Parker that the Indian chief, on the night of March 13, 1675, talked, as mentioned in Hubbard's "Narrative." In the assault made on the town, July 26, 1694, his son James and his son's wife, Mary, were killed by the Indians and several of their children were carried away captives. This family's history has been traced to the remote progenitor who in the eleventh century entered England with Wiliam the Conqueror. Another reference states that the Parkers of this line are said to have descended from Lord Parker of Macclesfield, England, who is supposed to have descended from one of the natural children of King Charles II, who is said to have descended from William the Conqueror.

Anne Dyer b:1644 CANNOT be child of Anne Hutchinson b:1643
Further Anne Dyer could not possibly have had 22 children from 1695 thru 1720 - age 51 thru 76 -- NO WAY.
This family group is thus a TOTAL HOAX or FABRICATION!!!
In addition, 2 James Clarke's are shown as FEMALES -- someone has lost their mind...

There Josiah was married to Ruth Lines on May 7, 1724. Josiah's decendants are known as the Bethany Branch of the Lounsbury family becauce Josiah and Ruth settled in that part of New Ha en County which in 1832 was separated from Woodbridge Township to form a new Township called Bethany, onlya portion of which had previosly been known by that name. Members of the family resided here for several generations. The geneology og yhe Bethany Branch of the Lounsbury family was originally prepared by Emma Lounsbury of Oxford, Connecticut, who died in 1925. She prefaced her research with the statement "gathered from small sources as I best could, but have endeavoured to give the authority for all statements" Emma's finding were edited by Edith Agnes Coleman Box77, Diamond Valley Road, R.D.#1, Barton, NY(She is now deceased,1994) She added information provided by Clarence Lounsbury of Smithboro, New York, and further informantion which she herself collected.(Clarence now deceased)

South of Pantherskin Run on the Loudoun side at the border starting with the above Charles Green's Patent~1742 the next names are Alice Gibson, Moses Gibson, Edward Garrett~1742, Isaac Wood, James Bowles, Daniel Allen, The Maples(town?), Geo Allen, Isaac Gibson, John Violet, Jonathan White, Rose Hill(town?appears to be in Fauquier). In Fauquier County across from Charles Green's Patent ~1742 is John Allen, across from Alice and Moses Gibson is Jas. Gibson. Everthing from here will be Fauquier County: Starting East of Sky Farm at the corner of Geo Washington Grant of 1768, along Gap Run but appears to be in Washington Grant is Israel Morris~1769, coming South between Crooked Run and Gap Run, Joe Carr, Montmorency, John Kerfoot, Ridgeville, Alex Bruce, Far msville, Heartland, Jas Morgan, Elijah Glascock, Chattins Run joins Goose Creek here and Eshtone, Benjamin Rector, Col. Thomas Marshall~1773 are in this piece of land. Thos Chattin and Dan'l Flowers are on the north side of Chattins Run just south of Rectortown. Working North on the East side of Goose creek from Rectortown, John Rector~1767, Thomas Glascock, Glenmore, Geo Glascock, Jas. Jeffries, Dan'l Harris, Vincent Moss, Rockbourne(first letter not clear), Thomas Cummings, at this point Goose Creek joins with another creek that is not named coming up from south. Going back to the North side of Goose creek East of Glenmore and north of Rectortown. John Glascock~1765, Thorton Urton, Benjamin Glascock, Daniel Michael, Ephrin Furr, James Endree, Hugh Whiteford slightly west from here is Grayson, Joshua Fletcher, Saint Brides, Sunridge, Rokeby, Geo Mckenny, John Wren, Oak Spring, Wm. Debrell, Elizabeth Bowen, John Talbert, Sam'l Turner, Chas. Adams, Joseph Johnson, Wm. Turner, Edgewood, Oakley, Gregory Glascock, Westview, Samuel Dennis, Thomas Urton, Abraham Adams, Daniel Adams, James Fishback this is in an area between Plum Run and Goose Creek close to where they join. Crossing Plum Run and going west is John Wingrove near Loudoun border, Grafton Hall, John Carter's reserved lot No. 6, John Endree further west Nordley, The Hill. To the best I could I typed the names as they appeared. There appears to be sections marked out that could be districts or whatever. Some of the names I tried to look up on my VA Road map such as Rokeby and they do not appear. Maybe the name has changed or if they are towns they no longer exist.

Rev. Josiah Dwight, s. of Capt. Timothy Dwight and his father's 3rd wife, Anna Flint (q.v. Flynt), b. of record Feb. 8 (bp. Feb. 19), 1670/71 at Dedham, Mass. He d. Aug. 8, 1748 and is interred at Thompson, Conn. (g.s.)

Rev. Dwight graduated from Harvard in 1687 and in 1690 at age 19 was installed as the first pastor of New Roxbury (a.k.a. Woodstock), Mass., since 1749 now the Town of Woodstock, Conn. For the next 36 years Rev. Dwight was pastor of the First Cong. Church of Woodstock until released in 1726 due to discord between he and his parishioners. He then left Woodstock to reside with his son-in-law Rev. Maston Cabot of nearby Thompson, Conn. Thereafter for eight years (June 1735 to 1743) he was pastor of the Third Parish Church of Dedham, Mass. Following this last dismission he returned to Thompson, Conn. where he died at the home of son-in-law Rev. Cabot.

On Dec. 4, 1695 at Hatfield, Mass., Rev. Dwight m. Mary Partridge, dau. of Col. Samuel Partridge and Mehitable Crow, b. circa 1678 at Hatfield. Her death and interment location is not of record, but was after 1724 when Rev. Dwight wrote his will, which included his wife Mary. However, the will was not probated for another 24 years until his death in 1748. Mary's older sister Mehitable was the wife of Rev. Dwight's older brother Nathaniel Dwight of Northampton, Mass.

Rev. Josiah Dwight and Mary Partridge had twelve known children, ten who were living in 1724 and included by name in Rev. Dwight's will. However, only six have a recorded birth in the Woodstock records, and two others who died young are known only by their grave record at Woodstock - Anna, John, Ruth, Dorothy, Rev. Flint, Mehitable (d.y.), Mehitable, Eunice, Mary, Elijah (d.y.), Elizabeth and Theodore.
