4201 Two "Rebekah" vs "Rebecca" Phelps (Wilson vs Willson)
There are two spelling variations on Rebekah (unknown last name) vs Rebecca Phelps. They are different people. Birthdates of children not a match though some names are the same. They appear to have both lived in Petersham, Massachusetts. Family information not a match. Surname of "Wilson" vs "Willson" is also spelled differently on many documents. Verify records/dates/names before attaching. This has been pretty messy to sort out.

4203 Two different Hannah Wilson's
Everything that has this one showing born in 1672 actually belongs to this Hannah's Aunt ID G338-CPR.

You can find the information in the book "Descendants of John Wilson of Woburn, MA" by Ken Stevens pages 7 and 8.

3 different Hannah's in this family
In my family records it shows:
Hannah Wilson born, 31 May 1672. It shows she died as a child with no date.
Hannah Wilson born, 28 December 1674. It shows she died as a child on 5 May 1676.
Hannah Wilson born 11 March 1677. It shows she married James Proctor on 3 December 1691. She was the only daughter named Hannah that lived long enough to marry.

2nd wife of John Proctor was the daughter of John Wilson and Hannah James
After Hannah's father John Willson's death, her mother Hannah then married Lt. Thomas Fuller of Salem Village (now Danvers). Salem Village was the center of the witchcraft hysteria and the elderly Hannah, a stranger, after a short stay in town, prudently decided to forsake her husband, leave Salem Village and return to Woburn to stay with her daughter.

The Woburn Town Records note, "Ye selectmen met and called James Proctor to
account for entertaining Hannah Fuller, his mother-in-law, without leave of ye selectmen."
Subsequently a bond for 80 pounds was given by James Wilson Sr. of Billerica, Samuel Wilson,
Aaron Cleveland, and James Proctor, all of Woburn, to free the town of any charge resulting
from "Hannah Fuller, ye wife of Lt. Thomas Fuller of Salem Village, who is come to this Towne
of Woburn to live with her children."

4204 Two Jacob Lucas vs Loucks
Jacob Lucas 1788-1830 ~ 94R1-22T (2 sources): has been added to a family that resided in New York. This same family also has a Jacob Loucks 1790–1877 ~ 277N-NS6 (17 sources). Ironically both are married to women named Jemima. The 2 sources for Jacob Lucas are census records that do not establish family relationships. I believe that this Jacob Lucas has been added to this family ( Jacob Loucks ~ L785-S7G and Catherine Keyser ~ 249S-8RX) incorrectly.
Jacob and Jemima Lucas are found in South Carolina, whereas Jacob and Jemima Loucks are found in New York. Jacob and Catherine Keyser are only found in New York.
I am unsure as to how to fix this issue.
Lucas, Jacob (I312684220376)

4205 Two Lydia Chamberlins, one born in 1745 and one in 1733 different parents .
Be aware when attached records.

The Lydia who was born in 1733 is the daughter of Samuel Chamberlain. She was married to Abner Willson.

4206 Two men named James Lewis in Smith Clove
There were two men named James Lewis who lived in Smith Clove, NY:

James Lewis (GS73-L4L), died 1 Jul 1778 in Smith Clove, Orange, NY. He was married to Sarah Miller.
His will dated 10 may 1778 mentions his brother-in-law, William Miller and nine children: Samuel, Isaac, Joseph, William, John, Mary (Pilgrim), James, Jacob, and Elizabeth. His wife's name is not given. The father of William Miller, the brother-in-law of mentioned in the will of James Lewis mentioned above, was also named William Miller. William Miller Sr died in 1768. His will mentions that he was of Morristown, New Jersey; his wife Margaret; he wills property in "The Clove" (aka Smith Clove) to his children William, Henry, John, Garret, and Sarah; he will 100 pounds to his daughter Lisha; and wills to his daughters Elizabeth and Katrun the plantation he lives on. The wife of James Lewis mentioned is most likely Sarah since she is the only daughter mentioned as receiving property in the Clove. An Edward Lewis did the inventory for the estate of William Miller Sr.
Additional notes:
1. The Will of Sarah's brother Garret Miller is recorded immediately following the will for her husband James Lewis.
2. A descendant of James and Sarah's son William Lewis 1754-1829 did Y-DNA testing; he is in haplogroup I-M223. He is a close match to descendants of John L Lewis b 1746 in New Jersey. Also, he is not a match with descendants of John Lewis 1698/9 to 1777, who was the father of the James Lewis that married Elizabeth Earl.

James Lewis (LC5H-MKZ), born 8 Dec 1728 in Reading, Middlesex, MA. He married Elizabeth Earl. James was the son of John Lewis and Martha Knight; Elizabeth was the daughter of John Earl and Rachel Adams. John Lewis and John Earl had been neighbors in the Beekman Precinct in Dutchess County, NY. James Lewis is mentioned in the will of his father-in-law John Earll written on 25 May 1781. The will bequeaths land to his daughter Elizabeth, the wife of James Lewis. Later, a description of land to one of his sons states, "to run parallel to southern line of tract above bequeathed to ye said James Lewis and Richard Earll." John would not bequeath land to a dead person. Also, a 1788 deed records the sale of land from Peter Earll and James Lewis to Richard Earll. The signatories of the deed are Peter and Elizabeth (Bull) Earll and James and Elizabeth (Earll) Lewis. Again, a dead man cannot sell property. So, this James Lewis was still alive in 1788 (ten years after the death of the other James Lewis).
From public papers of George Clinton (Governor of New York) , #1909 - "John Earl joined a number of other inhabitants of Smith’s Clove in petitioning George Clinton 14 Nov. 1778 to enable them to become a permanent Military Post. His sons Ezra, Jonathan, Peter and Samuel signed the petition, as did his son-in-law James Lewis and James Lewis Jr."
This shows that the James Lewis, son-in-law of John Earl, was alive in November 1778, and was not the same man twho died earlier that year.

Wife of James
Elizabeth Earle daughter of John Earle is NOT the wife of James Lewis, sr. She may be the wife of James Lewis Jr. See discussion why.

4214 Unproven Dates of Birth and Death
No original or primary sources of information can be found for Priscilla. The only sources for her dates of birth and death were all written long after her death by persons who could not possibly have had first-hand knowledge. These sources are notoriously unreliable, and the dates given are not plausible.

Did Joseph Have A Daughter Named Alice?
Joseph Hand, Jane Wright and their nine (9) children have been documented in historical papers and documents but there is no mention of an Alice Hand. While it is possible there could have been an Alice who died in infancy, it would seem doubtful that there is no record of an Alice who lived to be 39.

4229 Who are the parents of the Abigail Horton who married David Booth?
Adaline White in The Hortons of America is inconsistent about Abigail Horton, daughter of Caleb Horton. On p. 137, in her discussion of Caleb's descendants, she says that his daughter Abigail married Benjamin Moore. But on p. 2, when discussing the children of Barnabas Horton, she says that Barnabas' daughter Abigail married Charles Booth and their son David Booth married in 1717 Abigail Horton daughter of Caleb I. There are apparently 2 women named Abigail Horton. The daughter of Caleb--Abigail Horton (1676-1746)--clearly married Benjamin Moore. Caleb says so in his will. See the image of her gravestone on Find A Grave. The other Abigail Horton would have been younger if she married in 1717. In addition, recent researchers have concluded that Barnabas Horton did not have a daughter named Abigail born in 1665.

4231 Who was Rachel VanAllen(1755)
I do not understand what is going on here. In a 10 November1797 UCLP #74, Samuel Wright Senior identified his wife as Rachel Vanallen, daughter of Jacob Vanallen a UEL, who was a Sergeant in Sir John Johnston's Corps Of the Royal Rangers of New York, and based in Montreal, Quebec, British North American Colonies. This Jacob Vanallen had been in the serice since the start of the American Revolution until the disbandenment in 1783. This was Certified by Allen Vaterson, a Justice of the Peace. The problems that we have with these UCLP's is that no birth dates are given, and the Father is identified only by his residence. Do we have two Jacob Vanallen UEL, who are Father and Son, who are both Sergeants in Sir John Johnston's Corps of the Royal Rangers of New York, and based in Montreal, Quebec? And, do they each have daughters named Rachel? It appears that way from this LDS Family Tree: L12H-C1L and MPVP-NHD. To compound that, the Rachel VanAllen married to Samuel Wright Senior had at least 6 children born between 1773 and 1786, who all filed UCLP's. to top that off, on 10 October 1797, Rachel Wright filed her own UCLP #14, stating only that she was the daughter of a Loyalist; and that is why her husband, Samuel Wright Senior, filed his Petition #74 a month later. Samuel Wright Senior was a Justice of the Peace, and a Magestrate in Elizabethtown, Leeds, Johnstown district; and as such, he must have figured that his wife's Petition would be rejected from lack of information. Family tradition says that Pasco was born about 1640 in England. The family tradition was written down by William Whitford of Addison, VT (son of Peleg, Pasco, Nicholas, Pasco) and states that Pasco and his two sons came to Rhode Island from the West Indies, having been driven out of that location by the French, during the naval warfare between England and France. They fled to Rhode Island, settling in Portsmouth then East and West Greenwich. (William Whitford's "Narrative of the Whitford Family" in the Vermont His. Soc. Collections). William Carke Whitford(1902) says that Pasco Whitford is reported to have come from Bedfordshire, Eng., Taxed 2s in 1680. But he was texed in Newport RI in 1680 according to Austin's Genealogical Dictionary of RI. A letter of George N. Whitford, dated 3 Jun 1911 to Walter John Coates states that many Whitfords lived in and near the town of Truro, Cornwall, England and have been numerous there for the last 400 years. There is also and old Cornish family, the Pascoes who are also plentiful in the area. Possibly the maiden name of Pasco Whitford's mother or grandmother was Pascoe. In 1690(proceedings of the General Assembly held at Newport May 1690, for the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Mr. Henry Bull being governor, "Voted Mr. Pasco Whitford (and others) be admitted freemen of the colony." (p270 Records of the Colony of Rhode Island, compiled by John Russell Bartlett, Vol 3 Providence, RI) Pasco was living in East Greenwich in 1690. On 13 Apr 1697 he is recorded as a witness to a deed from Samuel Eldred, Sr. to his son John in Kings Town. Pasco Whitford is mentioned in a will of Charles Martin of East Greenwich dated 1682. Brian Leese was the researcher on this family. He assumed that Henry Barnes wife was Mary Bevington born 21 Dec 1681 in Honington dau of Wm. Bevington and Mary Stanley. William Bevington's will dated 7 Oct 1721 and proved 31 May 1722 at Worcester, gives his daughter Mary Bevington's married name as Lamley. Dormston Bishop Transcript records are not available at the Family Search library before 1731 for marriages and before 1716 for christenings, so I cannot verify that Henry Barnes married Mary Bevington on 12 Apr 1704 in Dormston. only explanation about the source is 'a letter from Florida' (Mrs. L. M. Van T., Florida, is cited at the end) . . . which says that John Owen married Mildred Grant (1714), daughter of Isabella Grant and Thomas Richardson and they had Thomas. He was a Revolutionary War soldier and married Isabella Allen (his cousin) . . . John Owens and his wife Mildred , with Thomas Grant (father of Mildred) and her brother Daniel, and brother-in-law William Allen, moved to Granville County, NC, in 1765, later removed to a location near Elizabethton, Kentucky. . . . . (Pursues the Owen family)

John Owen and Family information ~~ Nice factoids needing valid sources and properly entered into the data record. Thanks!
The following factoids are "red herrings" in that they are for the wrong John Owen and, whether intentionally or not, they simply confuse and divert attention away from the true facts for John Owen, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Brookes) Owen. (added by Virgil Owens 3/21/2023)

CONFLICT: http://claim.goldrush.com/~humbert death date 5 May 1740. AFN: GTTM-VV, was married to Mary Bliss in Simsbury,Hartford,Connecticut; Death Date 5 Feb 1741 BIOGRAPHY: History: Although Mary's father's family was among the first group to come to Hartford, she was living in Springfield when she married Nathaniel in 1670. Their first child is recorded as being born in Springfield. It is not clear if the couple lived in Springfield for long, but by 1675 they were back in Windsor with their two children, Nathaniel and Mary. Nathaniel Sr. is not listed among those who moved to Simsbury immediately following the war, but his older brother Joshua is listed, and his mother and step-father James Eno, did move to "Scotland", the section of Simsbury east of the ridge, in 1679. It is possible they lived with the Enos briefly, while renting land at Salmon Brook or they could have began building a homestead at Salmon Brook and that the record of Nathaniel's 1677,'78 or '79 grant was among those burned; no one bothered to record it again since he received new grants, possably for the same land, as a result of the land divisions in 1680. He continued to pay taxes in Windsor through 1686, but only because he owned three acres of upland there, not because he was a resident. BIOGRAPHY: Nathaniels will is dated 7 Feb 1740/1, probated 5 Mar 1740/1(Manwaring 3:286). He devises various real estate in both Windsor and Simsbury to the four sons,Nathaniel, Jonathan, John and Benjamin. To five living daughters, Mary, Hester, Margaret, Catherine and Sarah the moveable estate. To the son, not named, of his deceased daughter Martha, 20 shillings, to be paid by sons Nathaniel, Jonathan and John, "to buy him a Bible." (This would be Daniel Hayes). To his wife, not named, testator leaves only 20 shillings "besides what I have already secured for her before marriage." Son Benjamin is names sole executor; Witnesses: Elias Slater, Ephraim Bewell, Timothy Woodbr idge. BIOGRAPHY: Nathaniel was chosen Deputy to the General Court of Connecticut for Simsbury between 1703 and 1706; again between 1720 and 1722. Was a joint signer of an agreement with pastor of the church of Hop Mewdow 27 Jun 1687. Signed an offer to citizens of Salmonbrook and Low Meadow for exchange of parts of land to better fortify against Indians 4 Feb 1688.
