Salem witch victim
She was a victim accused by husband Joseph Ballard

I have not found evidence of the above statement. Joseph Ballard did not accuse his wife he believed she herself was bewitched and accused others of causing her illness through witch craft.

Here is the article...

The witchcraft delusion in Andover began with the accusation and arrest of Martha Carrier in late May of 1692, but escalated in mid-July when Joseph Ballard invited two of the afflicted girls from Salem Village to visit his sick wife in Andover. Elizabeth (Phelps) Ballard had been inexplicably ill all summer. Was she bewitched? The girls (historians differ on who they may have been) confirmed Elizabeth Ballard was tormented by witchcraft and accused several Andover residents. Shortly thereafter Joseph Ballard entered a complaint against Mary Lacy Sr. and her daughter, Mary Lacy Jr.

...

Identifying those who “tormented” Elizabeth Ballard did not help her. She died of her illness on July 27, 1692.

BIOGRAPHY: MAYBEE BARNES, son of Thomas Barnes of New Haven, born June 25, 1663, died March 6, 1748, m. Elizabeth Stowe, 1693. Children.--Nathaniel and perhaps Daniel

Maybee (1653-1748), settled at Middletown (now Middlefield); m. 1691, Elizabeth Stowe (1662-1738; Rev Samuel, grad. Harvard, 1645, established 1st ch. at Simsbury, Conn., removed to Middletown, where he gave land for school, m. Hope, dau. William Fletcher; John)

MAYBEE BARNES, m. Nov. 19, 1691, Elizabeth Stowe, dau. of Rev. Samuel and Hope (Fletcher) Stowe of Middletown. She was b. Aug. 1, 1662; d. Feb. 21, 1738. Resided in Middletown, presumably in that part that is now Middlefield. It is handed down that on one occasion an Indian inquired of him his name, and on receiving the answer "Maybee Barnes," the Indian indignantly grunted, "Maybe Indian." RELIGION
In May 1680, however, they mutually condescended for peace' sake, and jointly agreed to set it on ground, which they minutely described. It was south of the first meeting-house, on Main Street, on the east side---but standing in the street---and about opposite what is now Liberty street. In this all the inhabitants worshipped at least twenty-three years, and the greater part of them more than thirty-five.

By the time this was opened for religious worship, Wm. Roberts and John Cotton became inhabitants. Solomon Atkins, Maybe Barnes, Samuel Bidwell, Daniel Markham, Job Payne, William Southmayd, and Comfort Starr, not far from this time, became inhabitants also; others settled here at different times.

Pat, Great, the Barnes line has been giving me a tiny headache, even though it's exciting, due to so much contraductory information. I can accept gedcoms so thanks if you can sent it. I also have my great grandmother's photoalbum for the Barnes family-unfortunatly she is no longer cognizant and very few of the photos are labeled. Ebenezer Barnes is said to have had two children who were dwarfs and I think I may have a photo of one of them. The photo says on the back, "To Mother, from Anna" (Anna was a daughter of Ebenezer Barnes and Rachel, but I haven't come across a source claiming that Anna was one of the children that were dwarfs, so it's mostly a mystery to me as of yet who these people are. First I'll tell you my ancestry that I found through my own reasearch and then I'll let you know what others have told me for the generations before that:

Ebenezer Barnes Jr. + Rachel ?? 10. Ebenerzer Barnes Sr. + Mehitable Miller 11. Maybee Barnes + Elizabeth Stow12. Thomas Barnes Jr. + very confused about the wife, I have seen: Mary Brockett, Elizabeth and Mary Elizabeth Andrews all listed as wives for this Thomas!! Another point on which I'm confused is Ebenezer Barnes Jr. The information I got said he was born on Jan. 25 1730 in Middletown, Middlesex, CT and died Jan. 17 1798 in Granville, Hampten, MA. The Barnes family yearbook stated he was married and moven first to Tollard, CT and then to Ohio. I wonderwhy if he moved to Ohio, he would have died in Hampten, MA. There was an Ebenezer Barnes who was buried in Trumbull Co. Ohio in the same cemetery as Frances Remington Barnes did, but the dates are wrong for it to be thisEbenezer and his wife was named Ruth so I guess I'm just left curious on that point. I'm located in Toledo, Ohio which is in Lucas Co. The downtown library has a wonderful genealogy department but not a whole lot on this area of Connecticut. I do plan on going to Trumbull Co., Ohio in Decemeber to see what I can find on the Barnes.

!DIED: Will proved 9 Apr. 1779. !NAME-BORN-DIED-MARRIED-PARENTS-SPOUSE: Gerald James Parsons; "The Thomas Place Family of East Greenwich, R.I. Descendants of Mrs. Anne Hutchinson;" THE AMERICAN GENEALOGIST, #149, Jan 1962, v. 38, #1 pp. 44-51; poss. of Barbara Stoddard. !CONFLICT: Thomas married 16 Mar [1720?]. In the "Additions and Corrections" to Austin's Genealogical Dictionary, under Stafford, is found the following: "Margaret, m. 1730, Mar. 16, Thomas Place.." The year of this marriage is not correct, for Sarah (Holden) Stafford in her will dated 5 Jan. 1726/7, mentions her daughter "Margaret Place" [Warwick Wills, 1:218], and Margaret appears as wife of Thomas Place in a deed in North Kingstown dated 7 Mar. 1728/9 [No. kingstown Land Evidences, 6:43]. This marriage record cannot be found in the R.I. vital records, but probably was originally in the North Kingstown records and copied by someone before the first fire in 1869. Arnold made his copy of the vital records after this fire and it will be noted that the last digit of the year of birth of Thomas was burned off, for it appears in Arnold as "Nov 2, 169_." Since the year is given in full in the above record, it seems all the more plausible that Austin obtained this record from someone who had copied the records before the fire. Since 2 & 3 can be easily misread, it is suggested that the marriage may have taken place in 1720. (ibid.) !NAME-MARRIED: 16 Mar 1730 &ltWarwick, Kent, RI> SPOUSE: Marg. Burial Place for Hannah (Tuttle) Clark
There is a memorial page for Hannah Clark on findagrave.com listed in Grove Street Cemetery.
In going to the Grove Street Cemetery website and searching in the registry of burials, it does not list Hannah Clark who died in 1708. The old cemetery called New Haven Green was replaced with Grove Street Cemetery in the year 1797. Many of the headstones form the old New Haven Green are now along the wall of Grove Street Cemetery and those names are listed in the registry.
